Dr. Simi Saksena completed her MBBS & MS (General Surgery) from GR Medical College Gwalior, M.P. Initially practicing as female General Surgeon was a daunting and challenging task for her in a field purely dominated by males for years. Hard work became her mission and since then there is no looking back. Female patients who had inhibitions could approach her with ease. Her discerning and audacious approach towards her profession soon got accolades from her clientele. She traveled to Germany and obtained training in laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery from Klinikum Grosshadern Hospital in Munich, Germany. She returned to India in 1998 and over the last 15 years has developed her practice exclusively dedicated to the field of surgery. She has a team of female anesthetists as well, in all the hospitals where she is visiting due to the strict female privacy asked for by few female patients. In 2007, she was awarded the prestigious "Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery" from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India at Baroda. Since 1996 she has been practicing as General & Laparoscopic surgeon, operating on a female as well as male patients. She is also into Surgical Gastroenterology, doing upper GI endoscopy
